Hello. Today’s video shares how to create quick die cut bookmarks. Recently, my kiddos started back to school and I wanted to create a little something for their teachers.

There are many ways to create fun fold-over-the-page bookmarks. Today I used a Create A Smile pierced banner die to double partially die cut a long banner. You could do this with many different die shapes!
I stamped each bookmark with a sentiment and image from the Sunny Studio School Time and Create a Smile Magic Flowers stamp sets. I needed to do some quick coloring so I reached for my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. These markers are fun because they blend together beautifully with or without water. (I used Neenah cardstock today but I do recommend using watercolor paper with these markers to help with blending – even if you don’t use water.) I finished off each image with a couple coats of Clear Wink of Stella.
I’ve gotten many questions asking if the Minc Machine can laminate. From my experience, it can! I placed the bookmark inside a laminating pouch and ran it through my Minc Machine on the 4 heat setting and it worked great. When I trimmed the extra lamination off the bookmark, I left a little lamination around the entire image so it would be durable. Oh, and the lamination really makes that Wink of Stella coating sparkle.
Another option to create these bookmarks would be to die cut two banner images and have them adhere together end to end in the laminating process. You could also add some twine or ribbon at the top for a finishing touch. If you want to skip the lamination, you can!
